The Principle of PA System in the car
From now on, car makers offer four independent channels: front right, front left, back right, back left. All of them should normally be processed in the same way, just as they are processed through the four channels of amplification of the source unit. Unfortunately, the constraints of space and industrial manufacturing make, more often than not, the sound quality of the original speakers very poor. Changing the latter for specially designed ones will assure you a very important and immediate improvement in the sound quality.

Where to put the speakers?
The simplest solution would be to replace the original models with the new ones, in the dedicated spaces. That is why you will find in our lines diameters of 4, 5 or 6.5 inches that will fit perfectly. Plus, they are designed in a Coaxial way in order to reproduce the whole audible band pass. A personalized installation offers more flexibility but requires of course, much more complex modifications on the cell.

Coaxial speakers or Component system?
Two solutions are here presented to you. Either you choose a Coaxial speaker which gathers, besides the Subwoofer, two or three ways separated thanks to the use of complementary small speakers, for the reproduction of high and medium frequencies. You can either choose a component system, like in a hi-fi acoustic loudspeaker. It permits notably the orientation of the Tweeter in the ears of the passengers, thus reproducing the stereo image. At the same time, to compensate for that problem, several Coaxial Oxygen Audio speakers have an adjustable Tweeter which resolves part of the problem.

What diameter should you choose?
The principle is simple: the bigger the speaker is, the better it reproduces low frequencies. This is however compensated by the presence of a Subwoofer. If you choose to install your speakers in the reserves spaces, you will have to respect the present diameter. Notwithstanding, car spacers allow to use speakers with a slightly superior diameter (for instance a 5 inches speaker for a 4 inches diameter).

Should you plan to use an independent amplification?
Oxygen Audio offers speakers which efficiency is sufficient to make do with the integrated amplification in its source units, themselves being already very powerful (with a minimum of 4x45 Watts). However, a separate amplification allow not only an increase in the sound level but also better musical performances, better dynamics, a better respect of tones and less distortion.

A careful installation
While you’re at changing the speakers, you will be very careful with their fixation to prevent from any vibrations or acoustic short-circuit, and also with the deadening of the zone behind the diaphragm in order to avoid resonances.
